Warranty & After-Care
Last updated: 08/11/2025
Every Sovushka piece is made to order in London. This page explains your warranty, what it covers, how to claim, and how to care for your jewellery so it looks its best for years.
Contents
1) Warranty summary
We warrant our craftsmanship and materials against manufacturing defects for 12 months from the date you receive the item. This includes solder joints, settings, and structural integrity under normal wear.
Your statutory rights under UK law remain unaffected.
2) What the warranty covers
- Manufacturing defects such as failed solder seams or mis-set stones.
- Loose stones caused by inadequate setting tension at manufacture.
- Incorrect metal or hallmark compared to your order confirmation.
We will repair or replace at our discretion. If a design is discontinued we will offer a comparable remedy or a refund.
3) What the warranty does not cover
- Normal wear and tear such as small scratches or a gentle loss of polish.
- Damage from impact, crushing, bending, snagging or chemical exposure.
- Loss of stones after evident impact or bent claws, or after third-party resizing or repair.
- Changes in finish such as rhodium wear on white gold. This is cosmetic maintenance.
- Theft, loss or mysterious disappearance.
If another jeweller alters the piece during the warranty period, the warranty is void unless we confirm in writing.
4) How to make a warranty claim
- Email info@sovushka.com with your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photos from multiple angles.
- We assess within 2 to 3 working days and confirm next steps.
- Ship the item to our workshop using a tracked and insured service. For accepted claims we will cover reasonable return postage.
Turnaround depends on the work required. We will keep you updated.
5) Resizing policy
- One complimentary resize within 60 days on plain gold bands that can be resized safely.
- Channel-set, full eternity, tension-set and engraved bands may require a remake, quoted case by case.
- Customer pays shipping both ways unless the size error was ours.
6) Daily care guide
- Remove jewellery for gym, swimming, manual work, sleep and contact sports.
- Keep away from perfumes, lotions, chlorine, bleach and household cleaners.
- Put jewellery on last and take it off first.
- Store each piece separately in a soft pouch or lined box. Avoid mixed jewellery in one bag.
7) Cleaning by material
- Yellow and rose gold: Warm water with a small amount of mild dish soap. Soak 10 minutes, brush gently with a soft toothbrush, rinse and pat dry.
- White gold: Same as above. To restore bright white colour you may choose rhodium re-plating, see below.
- Diamonds, sapphires, rubies: Safe in mild soap solution with a soft brush. Ultrasonic cleaners are usually safe for diamonds if claws are secure. Avoid ultrasonic for stones with visible fractures.
- Emeralds, opals, pearls and porous or treated stones: Do not soak and do not use ultrasonic. Wipe with a barely damp soft cloth only.
- Silver components: Use a silver polishing cloth. Avoid liquid dips on assembled jewellery.
8) White gold rhodium care
Most white gold is rhodium plated to achieve a bright white finish. Rhodium naturally wears with time, especially on high-contact areas such as the underside of rings. Typical intervals between re-plates are 6 to 18 months depending on wear.
- We offer professional clean, polish and rhodium re-plate. Turnaround is usually 3 to 7 working days.
- Rhodium re-plating is a cosmetic service and not a warranty item unless there was a clear plating defect on arrival.
9) After-care services
We provide workshop services even after the warranty period. Email for a quote.
| Service | Notes |
|---|---|
| Clean and polish | Removes surface marks and restores shine. Does not remove deep scratches. |
| Prong tightening | Recommended periodic check for stone-set rings. |
| Rhodium re-plating | For white gold pieces. Includes professional clean and polish. |
| Resize | Feasibility depends on design and setting style. |
| Repair of accidental damage | Quoted case by case after inspection. |
10) Stone security and prong checks
- Have claws checked every 6 to 12 months if you wear the ring daily.
- If you hear rattling, feel movement, or snag fabrics, stop wearing the piece and contact us immediately.
11) Lost stones policy
If a stone is lost due to a manufacturing defect within the 12 month warranty we will replace it at no charge. If loss is due to impact, bent claws or wear, we will quote a replacement at cost plus fitting.
We strongly recommend independent jewellery insurance for loss and accidental damage.
12) Hallmarks, certificates and appraisals
- Gold items are hallmarked in the United Kingdom in accordance with UK regulations.
- Where stated, diamonds and gemstones are supplied with the specified certification.
- Valuation for insurance is available on request.
