Add meaning to your piece with precision laser engraving, hand engraving, monograms, dates and symbols. This page covers options, limits, artwork rules and timelines.

1) What we can engrave
- Inside or outside of rings (flat, comfort, or court profiles).
- Pendant backs & bails, tag plates, lockets, signet faces (deep seal), bangles/cuffs.
- Dates, names, coordinates, Quran/Scripture references, initials/monograms, short messages.
- Symbols: ♥ ★ ∞ & simple line-icons (see artwork rules below).
- Languages supported: English, Arabic, Russian, Turkish, and most Latin scripts with accents/diacritics.
Very small sizes or heavy textures may reduce what’s feasible — we’ll advise case by case.
2) Methods: laser vs hand
Laser engraving
- Sharp, consistent and ideal for tiny text (≥0.8 mm height).
- Best for modern fonts, coordinates, QR codes, vector artwork.
- Fast: usually adds 1–3 working days.
Hand engraving
- Cut by engraver’s tools for a traditional, deeper sparkle.
- Perfect for scripts, flourishes and signet seal intaglios.
- Slower: usually adds 3–7 working days depending on complexity.
3) Fonts & styles
Choose one of our house styles or send a licensed font file (OTF/TTF).

- Case-sensitive, diacritics supported (é, ö, ğ, etc.).
- For Arabic/Russian, send exact text as Unicode plus a screenshot to confirm letterforms.
4) Character limits & placements
Guidelines for typical ring profiles (including spaces & symbols):

- Minimum text height: 0.8 mm (laser), 1.0 mm (hand).
- Minimum stroke thickness for artwork: 0.20 mm.
- We avoid engraving directly over hallmarks; placement is adjusted accordingly.
5) Logos & custom artwork
- Best format: SVG, PDF (vector, black/white). High-res PNG (1200 px+) accepted.
- Simplify to solid shapes; no gradients or hairline details below 0.20 mm.
- For seal/signet intaglio: provide a mirror-image vector; depth 0.3–0.6 mm depending on metal & size.
We can redraw simple marks into vector for a fee if needed.
6) Proofs & approvals
- We send a digital layout proof (top-down mock) for custom artwork or complex layouts.
- One revision round included. Extra revisions available if the design changes materially.
- Approval locks the spelling, font and placement before we engrave.
7) Turnaround & rush
Engraving usually adds 1–3 working days (laser) or 3–7 working days (hand) to the normal lead time. Need it sooner? Email info@sovushka.com before ordering for rush feasibility.
8) Pricing
- Simple text engraving (inside ring or pendant back): price shown at checkout when the option is selected.
- Hand engraving, symbols, monograms, seals or logos: quoted based on complexity, size and method.
- Vector clean-up or redrawing (optional): quoted after artwork review.
9) Returns & resizing rules
- Personalised/engraved items are non-returnable under distance-selling rules unless faulty.
- Resizing an engraved ring can distort or clip the engraving. We’ll advise the safest route (re-engrave after resize if needed).
- Warranty covers defects in the metal/workmanship; normal finish wear is excluded.
10) How to request engraving
- Add your piece to cart and choose the engraving option (if available), or email us to add it to an existing order.
- Send the exact text, font choice, placement (inside/outside/back), and any deadline to info@sovushka.com.
- For artwork, attach SVG/PDF/PNG and specify final width in millimetres.
- We’ll confirm feasibility, timeline and any additional cost before proceeding.
